How Yupsies collects and handles consent to send text messages.
When a host wants to invite a friend to activities, they add the friend's phone number in the app. The friend receives a one-time opt-in text message. No further messages are sent until the friend explicitly replies YES.
π Consent Statement
By replying YES, you consent to receive SMS text messages from Yupsies on behalf of your friend. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time or HELP for assistance. View our Privacy Policy and Terms.
The first text a contact receives is an explicit opt-in request, for example:
[Yupsies] β Friend:
β[Yupsies] Martin wants to send you activity invites via SMS. Reply YES to consent to receive text messages from Yupsies, or NO to decline. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP anytime to opt out. yupsies.com/privacyβ
Friend β [Yupsies]:
βYESβ
The contact must reply YES to opt in. Replying NO opts them out immediately. No activity messages are sent until a YES is received.
After opting in, contacts receive SMS notifications when the host creates an activity they are invited to. Each message includes the activity name, date, location, and a prompt to reply YES to join or NO to skip.
Message frequency varies depending on how often the host organises activities. Standard message and data rates may apply.
To opt out at any time, reply STOP to any message. You will immediately stop receiving messages. Contacts can also reply NO to any opt-in or activity invite to decline without fully unsubscribing.
Yupsies never sends messages to anyone who has not replied YES. Hosts can only message contacts who have explicitly opted in.
Reply HELP to any message for assistance.
Yupsies is designed exclusively for personal use among people who already know each other. Hosts are real individuals β friends, family members, or acquaintances β coordinating real-world activities like hikes, dinners, or sports with their existing social circle. This is not a marketing platform and is not used for cold outreach, lead generation, or contacting strangers. Every contact a host adds is someone they have a personal relationship with and have chosen to invite. The opt-in message itself is written in the host's own voice and addressed to someone who already knows them, making the context clear to the recipient from the very first message.
